The Moorings, part of the upscale Island Moorings community, is located in Port Aransas, Texas on the northern tip of Mustang Island. Mustang Island is a 20 mile long barrier island located north of Padre Island and is one of a string of barrier islands off the coast of Texas that stretches from Galveston to Mexico.

Visit the University of Texas Marine Science Institute founded in 1941 in Port Aransas, Texas to study marine life in the Gulf of Mexico. UTMSI recently opened the Wetlands Education Center to study and share wild life and marine life interests with young Texans all over the state.
Port Aransas has a population of over 3,300 and 3 traffic lights. A very active volunteer community allows you to give of your time and still have plenty left over for fishing. Port A’s governing is by a city council, mayor and city manager form of government.
Port Aransas is about thirty minutes from Corpus Christi and is served by the Corpus Christi International Airport. If you are a pilot, Mustang Beach Airport (KRAS) is within walking distance from The Townhomes at the Moorings. A free ferry service on the north end of Mustang Island connects Port A to the mainland and Aransas Pass or if traveling from San Antonio, Highway 37 is the route to take.
